Downtown Manheim will spring into color in May as the Manheim Downtown Development Group gets ready for their annual Planter Program. This urban beautification program will bring bright splashes of greenery and color to the sidewalks and storefronts of downtown Manheim.

In business for over 30 years, Martin’s Greenhouse of Manheim is designing and coordinating the planters again this year. The plastic planter pot is a terra cotta design that is 24 inches at the mouth of the pot and is approximately 20 inches in height. Each flower pot costs $100 the first year and a substantially reduced cost for the following years! This initial cost is to cover the expense of the planter container. The containers are filled with a mixture of beautiful seasonal spring flowers. There is the option to have shaded or sun plants. This year, we have added another option which is to have mums planted in the containers the second week in September to compliment the fall season!  Each spring, Martin’s Greenhouse will deliver the freshly made planters. For your convenience, they will pick them up at your business location in late October and store them for the winter.

The Planter Program has been a huge success! Last Spring, over 25 planters in the downtown delighted and welcomed our visitors and the Manheim Community.
